Patrick Spens – Assurance and Transformation: PWC

Patrick is one of the UK’s leading authorities on Blockchain and distributed ledger technology and holds a global view of the distributed ledger market.

He comes from thirty years in the financial services industry with a history of technological innovation at the Financial Regulator and at Citigroup. He was appointed by PwC in February two thousand sixteen to explore the transformational potential of Blockchain, distributed ledger technology and encryption across all industries, sectors, Government and broader society. Patrick is Chairman of the Governance committee of the Whitechapel Think Tank, an independent assets set up to co-ordinate the UK’s response to distributed ledger technology. The tank comprises of Government, Regulators, Industry, technology providers, Academia and FinTech companies. From this and other associated advisory roles he has a global view of blockchain/DLT technology and any future direction.

Patrick is on the British Standards Institute DLT/1 (blockchain standards) committee and sits on the Advisory Board of GovCoin, presently distributing benefits via the Dept. for Work and Pensions to claimants in South Manchester using blockchain. He is also on the leadership team of ID2020, a not for profit US organisation set up to supply the UN’s SDG 16.9 – Legal identity for all inc. birth registration

Patrick is an Honorary Adjunct Professor of Macquarie University, NSW, Australia, an executive Fellow of Henley business school and sits on the advisory board of UCL’s Financial computing faculty (part of the Alan Turing Inst.)

Miguel Neumann – Billon Group Director, Founding Fucking partner at DXM and Brickfund. : DXmarkets

Miguel Neumann is the Co-Founder and COO of DXMarkets, a Fintech rigid specialising in Digital Asset Securitisation. With a background in business management and over fifteen years of practice, he has consistently integrated innovation into traditional industries including Finance and Wealth Management. Multi-cultural and bilingual, he has led global teams from the UK, US, Spain and South America. He has been involved in several digital projects involving large-scale transactional platforms for first-class investment banks including J.P. Morgan. Mr. Neumann is an advocate for behavioural economics and user-centred strategies. He holds an MBA from Durham University. He is also a self-taught developer and trader, university-trained designer and certified project manager.

Ashley Kemball-Cook – Business Analyst and Communications Lead: Qadre

Ashley is the Product Manager of a leading PropTech Blockchain product that uses payment cards to provide frictionless, reliable and secure registration to co-working spaces, hotels, and other facilities. The product aims to solve the problem that office space, residential property and real estate management has remained largely unevolved since the 1970s. Onboarding, security checks and payments were all cumbersome processes in a world of excessive administration writing and clearing cheques, or walking around with cash.

Ashley’s previous role was as Head of Research for the consultancy, Blueprint. He advised on the core strategy of a number of leading organisations, including national commercial property consultancy, Lambert Smith Hampton. Ashley has also led on consultancy projects delivered to: easyJet, Unilever, Vodafone, EDF energy, and UK Government.

Phillip Jarman – UK Director & COO: Seso

Based in Cambridge and London Phillip joined Seso in November two thousand sixteen from Anglo African Enterprises (AAE) where he was General Manager of the company’s corporate ventures division, AAVentures. His mandate was to invest in UK based fintech start-ups whose solutions could be sold into AAE’s Client base (financial institution). Before this Phillip spent seven years working in finance for UBS Wealth Management where he generated bespoke investment strategies for Ultra-High- Net-Worth African based clients. Phillip holds an MBA from Imperial College London where he specialized in Innovation and Corporate Finance. He leads investor relationships, growth strategy, and financial management at Seso.

Simon Tucker: Blockchain Advocate

Simon Tucker is a two thousand sixteen graduate of the University of Reading having ended the BSc Real Estate program, writing his thesis on the blockchain, how it works and how it is applicable to the Real Estate industry. Since then he has been part of panel discussions and presentations on blockchain in real estate. A contributor on Professor Andrew Baum’s report ‘PropTech Trio.0: The Future of Real Estate’ for the Said Business School and consultant on strategy and integration of blockchain into existing services within the property industry.
